BLUE TITS 2007
January,
first visits of the nesting box.
It is him
which comes to visit the first and which tries to convince sa belle
that
housing is suitable. He invites her to visit while he remains in the
nesting
box. If she comes to have a look, he has won. The entire nesting box is
inspected. It is checked if the sight is appropriate, if the
neighborhoods are
sure. She spends long time at the door.
February,
Madam is
convinced for the housing. The first grass bits and of moss arrive the

February.
All the month of February
she brings moss tufts. It is she which builds the nest. He supervises
and keeps
watch.
March. She
packs the moss. The nest starts to take shape.
He
remains
close to the nesting box, keeps watch. He gets impatient sometimes and
goes to
have a glance inside, but he is still not allowed there at the same
time as
her. He seems to find the time quite long.
Moss and straw accumulate during the month of March. A tuft remains wedged at the entry. Sometimes she inspects her work but doesn't likes the result. Then she takes brought materials and throws them out.
She spends long moments nibbling
the entry.
At
28 March she remains
to sleep the evening in the nest.
April. She spends long
calm moments in the nest. He awaits her impatiently in the morning
singing his
head off.
He comes to nourish her in the nest. She will lay an egg per day. She leaves the nest in the course of the day leaving her eggs partially covered.
14 April, 9 eggs and it
starts to brood. She seldom leaves, and broods for long periods.
17 April 12 eggs. The
laying is complete. It is green caterpillar's season and he ensures the
supply him.
He doesn't sing any more in the morning, he is busy.
She will still brood for 10 more days.
She is nourished almost exclusively on large juicy green
caterpillars.
22-23
April, she sleeps less, is more active and starts to leave the nest
more often.
28 April. Birth of the first
chick and first meal. The first egg was laid the 6 April and she broods
since
the 14.

Little by
little the chick gets clear.

cleanliness of the nest and recovers the fecal bags of chicks. The

Four days
and of a butterfly in the menu. The chicks become darker.

the pins of the wings
feathers and the head becomes
black.
Eight days. They grow
bigger before your very eyes! The pins of the feathers are apparent.
The heads
are black. The black line on the back becomes more marked. They make
some
escapades. The eyes are not opened yet, but one foresees the form in
the
eyelid.
Nine days (7 May).
Ten days.
We start to open the eyes a little and chirp all time.
Eleven days.
Twelve days. Eyes open.
Thirteen.
One sees the
black mask of 7
chicks. In the
night, the mother does
not
sleep any more in the
nest.
