09 February:
Sunny morning, 10°. When the days are clear, there are always
visits. Five visits today: 10h49, 12h27, 13h51 and 14h30. Always less
than a minute, as usual.
Surprise! She brings the first dry grass blades. This is a week earlier
than last year.
10
February:
Rainy night, but sunshine in the morning and mild weather: 10°.
Visits at 10h18, 11h17 and 14h30. Time schedule are similar all days.
The nest is inspected from every angle, and there is always an inspection of the cameras.
No new nest material. In one visit, both entered the nest, but not for long. The pictures are not good enough to be displayed.
11
February:
Heavy rain this night and this morning, but afternoon is
clearer.
High wind and strong gusts, but our small blue tits are not
hindered to climb to the 9th floor. The male settled and sang a long
moment near the nest.
Four visits (until 15h30): 12h30, 13h30, 13h40 and 14h57. No visits in the morning, but this is normal, until noon rain was too heavy.
Same kind of visits. Short tour about cameras. She spends long time inside the nest looking through the entrance.
Extensive visits to the peanuts braid, now that it has been tasted.
They stay increasing long time to sing on the terrace. We took lots of pictures that will be displayed soon.
12
February:
Four visits today: 11h30, 12h10, 14h22 and 16h40.
They are longer and now they last 2 minutes.
13
February:
At last, a beautiful sunny day. And a lot of visits: 9 today. at 9h30,
11h, 12h, 12h40, 13h10, 13h30, 17h23 and 17h34.
Rare picture with both of them in the nest box.
She brings the first big billful of green moss. She has some difficulties to go though the entry hole, but there it is, the moss is in the nest.
In the picture at left shows the head passing trough the entrance with
the big moss tuft. Next moment she is inside. Dry grass and green moss
are the two main components for the nest fundament.
14 February:
Rain, more rain and wind. But mild weather (12°).
Weather is
too bad in the morning and the first visit happen at 12h30.
The
second one at 16h30. Wind is very strong (gusts at 95 km/h).
they
are really courageous to climb and stay in our terrace.
The activities in the nest are always the same. An inspection tour, a
hello! to the camera. Sometimes both inside the nest. He does not stay
longtime inside.
Outside, what can we see?
We examine de view. Then, the solidity of the nest walls.
Beware the rick!
Best thing to get inside.
Looking out the door...
Meanwhile, he sings wholeheartedly.
15 February:
Most beautiful sunny day.
Five long visits: 9h21, 9h59, 11h52, 12h19 and 16h33.
The noon visit was longer: 5 minutes.
The terrace was visited by great tits, which stayed and sang.
Several times a blue tit tried to get inside our flat. Probably it saw its own reflexion in the window at was not disposed to accept a competitor. This year, tits come closer to the window than last year.
Should I charge or not? Well, yes, next moment he charged and found the window glass.
The seed firmly held beteew claws, he hammers until the shell breaks.
16
February:
A early short visit at 8h47 then at 12h40, 13h36, from 14h32
to 14h40 and 17h47.
Good weather, fresh (9°).
Lots of singing on the terrace, mostly in the afternoon.
New visits and singing of great tits. A sparrow, like last year begins to mow the same asparagus. Nesting is going on!
This shaggy ball... a starling roosted beside the nest only a few
moments . Fortunately, if not, it would have become
acquainted with our small tits.
Characteristic attitude of the male: Lowered wings, hopping among branches.
